Isn't it time for Jesus? (written back in '96 in Guyana!)

(Written in "96 in Guyana it seems so relevant for the US today!)
The world is not getting better! We all know that. Our country is also suffering. Political promises have proven to just so much hot air. Corruption confuses every agency in the land.
Racial strife is still foremost on the agenda of the inhumans. Crime is on the increase - violently so. We still bar up our doors and windows. Neighborhood watch or vigilante committees are as common place as the criminal activity that spawns them.
Wages and salaries cannot cope with the steeply rising cost of living. Ever so often someone comes up with the "supposed cure" for mankind's ills. People hope it is true and that it will bring change for the better but all too sadly discover it is just another thief pampering his ego and filling his pockets.
Evil men and seducers continue to wax worse - deceiving and being deceived.
Where are we headed?
We have become a nation of selfish grabbers who will step on our neighbors and closest relatives to get up. Drug pushers prey on the minds and souls of our offspring like maggots on dead bodies.
Professionals make a mockery of their oaths-murdering innocent babies in their greed. Instead of upholding the law and serving the nation they aid and abet in crimes for a percentage of gain. Men and women bitterly tear into each other making war in the name of religion.
Blackout in our land is not just a chronic ill. It is symbolic of the spiritual blackout in the hearts and minds of men and women who keep on bleating about moral and spiritual revival with an eye to filling their own coffers. The righteousness which should encourage and exalt our people is sadly absent. The result is that we have become a reproach because of sin.
Talking about moral and spiritual revival means nothing unless our hearts are right with God.
Isn't it time for a change? Not a political change! That did not help!
Isn't it time for a spiritual change. Isn't it time for us to acknowledge God as Creator and Sovereign? Isn't is time to repent of our sins as a nation and turn to God? Isn't it time to usher in holy and righteous living that springs from a heart of penitent prayer?
Isn't it time for Jesus?
Yes! Certainly YES!

A SPIRITUALLY IMPORTANT RANT!

A question to you who call yourselves Christians, and Christian leaders: Where is all this meanness, these hurtful comments, these mocking ...
